Use breaklines to help define features such as building pads, ridges, and ditches. Breaklines force the triangle edges in the TIN model to be created "along" the breakline instead of across it.
Without Breaklines
With Breaklines When breaklines are added to define the top of bank and toe of slope, the triangles correctly follow the ditch. This is essential for proper contour line generation.
Contours Contours are generated correctly based on the TIN model with breaklines present.
